Shooting Concluded

It took us nine separate days to shoot this film.   Much of the credit goes to Steve, Jason and Alana for keeping this thing together.  They all made us better actors.  Nora, Laurie and Alayna I put in the same light.  I’ll be happy when I am done editing.   Still a long way to go….  To soon to speak about the third film in the series “The Revenge of the Fatbat”

Pettiness and people

I started this project to venture into a new area creatively and I am on the whole very pleased with what we have completed.  Some People are simply petty today I had a ten minuted conversation where our little 9 minute opening was dissected like the Zabruter film.   We are making a comedy that is farce….  I am sorry if we don’t meet your high production standards…  The nine minutes are an early edit.  I am upset with myself for lowering myself to your level.  I am passionate artist, for that I make no apologies….    I take this personally.

Getting close to the end (of Photography)

Everyone brought their A game today..   We are all getting to be damn fine actors.  We started the day by shooting the pool hall death of the Arch Bishop and the Mother Superior, this went very well.  My on;y frustration is with Mics in the camera view, this was an ongoing issue today.  And our damn audio entension cable is causing horrid feed back.  I need some help everyone needs to keep under control when on location.

I am very pleased with alot of the footage that we have but we need to all be vigilant about the technical end of things.

The Squatch Cave Revisited

Steve and Alana are awesome actors, working with the two of them have made this project something that is going to be a great movie.

Jason, Steve and Alana all knocked it out of the park with the Squatch Cave.  With Jason as the movie psycho we are only going to make a more memorable film.

When finished this is going to be more than an independent movie, it’s going to be a memory for all involved.

Maryland, 1500 miles in 72 hours

We returned to Maryland to reshoot, It went great.  Mike and Scott did great in the first scene and we changed it from being Sasquatch and Joker to being Joker and the Indian Princess…  Name withheld.  That went great and Jason and I pulled off a great action sequence.

We then moved on to the rooftop robbery scene.  This went ok…  Mike and Amy were the couple and we had the street toughs known as their children rob them, I think this too was a decent scene and went well to the camera this will be a great scene.  I think for the Directors cut version we are going to reshoot this scene in Michigan….

Lastly we did the Dream Sequence, this went about aswell as could be expected.  The final scene you shoot is always the hardest and that was true on this scene.

We are making a great not just a good movie.  I never want anything we do in this production to be called ‘good enough’  I would travel to Maryland and back every weekend for two years to get this done properly.  Our standards must remain extremely high so our final product is true to my artistic vision, a film that we can all be proud of.

I’ll sleep when we finish shooting.

Footage Review From Day two

AWESOME….  for the most part

I’ll review my thoughts for each scene footage

DANCE OFF

This was an excellent job especially by Steve, working in a sasquatch suit is difficult enough but the dance as well and act as well as he has is really making all of us preform better.  My dancing was awesome except for we had a mishap on the Canon HD, when I am falling the camera moves, mwe will fix this by slicing in Xoom footage.

Jason and Tracee  were excellent especially the impromptu dance while Steve was dancing.

My dance was funny and Alana and Steve dancing over top of me was hilarious.  Their dance was awesome, the two of them have excellent chemistry and I can’t wait to film the squatch cave.

CAIN ARRESTED

Great scene, great acting…  Marv cracks me up as crackhead Alfred…  Great Footage

CONFERENCE ROOM

Cluster F%$@ – We’ll reshoot

HOSPITAL ROOM
No audio on Canon HD -   AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, the xoom got audio I’ll try and sync these up

EXTERNAL SHOTS

Great shots here, awesome work

WAYNE INDUSTRIES ROBERY

Several takes, actions scenes are the hardest but the most fun.  Optimistic about this footage

CITY HALL

Nora, Laurie and Alayna all great in front of the camera, we have something special here…  great chemistry, Laurie and Alayna awesome comic work and timing.  Great casting here.

Over all all of the footage is awesome.  Getting very excited

Shooting Day Two – Allegan

Another long day of shooting has been completed.  We started the day at Murasaki’s tavern in Gobles for the soon to be famous dance competition scene.  The day was very productive.  Steve and Alana have great on screen chemistry and it’s great working with everyone on this collaboration.  I am looking forward to to the sasquatch cave scenes on October 25th and the Maryland shoots this weekend.

Here are my notes from today

Murawski’s -Everyone did great and Jan at Murawskis is awesome.  My dance moves are legendary.  Tracee and Jasons impromptu dance was priceelss. We shot a douche beer commercial, marv is hysterical as Alfred

Tech Center – Steve, Marv and I did the Cain Arrested scene.  Steve is an awesome actor, The Viking Hat on Kate was hilarious.  Marv really is awesome as Alfred.  I love the ‘seriously’ line I delivered if I may be to bold.  Action sequence was really good.   Conference Room scene was a bust although Mike Klosner’s adlibs make me crack up every time.  That scene is going to take some rewriting.  Alayna was awesome as doctor….  We have a hidden talent there.  Patsy was spot on as Doctor #2. Office robbery was great note to up and coming film makers.  Professionalism and keep in the moment are critical to affective film making.  I rested for the external scenes, I’m sure they turned out great.  I think Zach will be an excellent Sal Corleone.  Note to everyone know your lines when we start.

City Hall – Nora, Laurie and Alayna have great chemistry on screen.  That scene when great, I loved Nora’s mayor and Alayna’s Gordon, Laurie as Rebecca Dent is always right on, she is an outstanding actor.  Alana as Selina in the dent attacking scene was awesome, I am so lucky to have this much talent in front of the camera.

I am exhausted after this day but in a good way.  This movie is going to be a lot of hard work and fun.
